Twitter, Fb freeze Trump accounts as tech giants reply to storming of US capitol – world information

Twitter and Fb Inc on Wednesday quickly locked the accounts of US President Donald Trump, as tech giants scrambled to crack down on his baseless claims in regards to the US presidential elections amid riots on the US Capitol.

Twitter hid and required the elimination of three of Trump’s tweets “on account of the unprecedented and ongoing violent scenario in Washington, D.C.,” after pro-Trump protesters stormed the US Capitol in an try and pressure Congress to dam the appointment of President-elect Joe Biden.

Fb later tweeted it will block Trump’s web page from posting for 24 hours because of two coverage violations.

Twitter locked Trump’s account for 12 hours and stated that if the tweets are usually not eliminated, the account would stay locked, that means the president can be unable to tweet from @realDonaldTrump.
